Caption Confidence is local by design. Your caption content is yours and stays on your device.

What the extension handles

When you choose a VTT or SRT file, it is read in memory inside the active browser tab. Caption cues are not uploaded, logged, or sent to us. Word-pair preferences, text size, replay lead-in, and your optional license are stored in your browser’s local extension storage.

Page access

The extension looks for HTML5 video and exposed caption tracks on pages where it runs. It does not bypass DRM, inspect browsing history, or collect page content for analytics.

Purchases

If you buy the optional supporter unlock, the Sociobot billing API and Dodo, the merchant of record, process the transaction. We receive license status; we do not receive or store your card details. License verification sends only the license token to Sociobot.

Website data

This site does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. It stores an optional license token and a timestamped verification result in local storage. The service worker may cache public site files for reliable loading.

Your control

Remove extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage. Clear site data through your browser to remove the website license cache. For privacy questions, email privacy@sociobot.in.
